Info

Dear friends,
Welcome to the website of our book-project:
500 mill birds/250 pictures A bird photographic journey through Israel

As some of you know, we, Klaus Bjerre and Thomas Krumenacker, both share a love for Israel, its people and birds. Both of us have frequently visited the country — Klaus more than 35 times since his first trip 33 years ago, Thomas more than a dozen times, including several month during the last few years. For both of us the birds of Israel have become an important part of our lives and we know about the misperception of Israel in the minds of many people all over the world who are unfamiliar with the situation in the country. This still deters people from visiting the country and this is clearly something we want to help to change.

That is why we initiated a joint book project with other photographers who want to contribute to the project aiming at highlight the beauty of the birds in this country.
To give you an idea about pictures we have in mind we downloaded them to the gallery of this website. We know that many pictures matching our criteria already exist and are stored in the archives of many photographers in Israel, Europe or elsewhere. The challenge now is to find them, select from them and then to discuss what else we need to fill any gaps. We might also extend our brief and include single pictures of other forms of wildlife. As long as it satisfies the main criteria of the book and portrays the beauty of Israel, then it will be given due consideration for possible inclusion.

HOW TO CONTRIBUTE?
If you feel you have pictures for the project and you want to participate please
send low resolution pictures (not more than 1200px on the longest side) to the following email-addresses: eosfo2graf@dadlnet.dk , tkrumenacker@yahoo.com
Please keep in mind during the selection process that if the pictures are to be included large files will be needed.

This is planned as a joint project involving all the contributing photographers. Depending on how many pictures we receive we will discuss with you later how we intend to proceed. Also ideas regarding the concept are very welcome. Copyright stays, of course, with the photographers.

We will update this website with pictures and stories about the ongoing process on a regular basis.

We are looking forward to work with all of you.
